First, the website is now under the domain name “rims-cottage.pl”.

Second, My new email is “contact@rims-cottage.pl”.

About [matrix]

I might consider setting up [matrix] soon, but I have to evaluate if me forgetting to pay for my VPS again and not backing up my stuff is worth the risk.

I might just write a bash script to back it up to the latest version every few days if not everyday, keeping only 1 or 2 previous versions with the script checking if it copied anything (for example not removing anything if I forget to pay again).

I have been trying to get this website running through github actions with little success.

The BaseURL would break on every page except the homepage, and when I tried to change folder /posts/ to /post/ so that my theme has a proper list for my posts, it also didn’t recognise that change!

For some reason after some digging, it started working out of nowhere!

My github repo is public so you can see what happened and contact me once I setup contact page later today.

So for few months I had issue that my write and read speeds on smb were capped at 100Mbps, I didn’t bother with it as I was in my lazy phase for a while but today I fixed it.

I spent a while debugging, testing on both the truenas vm and on proxmox, doing drive tests, network tests and much more.

It turned out my router’s 4th port is malfunctioning or is somehow capped at 100Mbps, now that I switched the cable to the 5th port I have a gigabit connection with my smb share.
